Zlatan Ibrahimovic reveals he hopes to play in 2018
Anderlecht defender Zlatans first professional contract with Manchester United will not be up until 2021 and he wants to play more games, but he has not been given the green light to start his professional career yet.
“I am hoping to play my first game in the summer,” the 29-year-old said.
“Of course I hope to play.
The players here know it.
I hope that I can be there for them for the first game of the season.”
He has not yet been given permission to start the 2018-19 campaign, but Zlatán Ibrahimovic says he is in the process of being offered a contract.
The Sweden international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford since the end of the 2017-18 season and there is talk of a £50 million deal in place.
“For now I am in the beginning of a new phase of my career, but I am optimistic that things will go in the right direction,” he added.
“At the moment I’m working hard on my game.
I am looking forward to the new season.”
