What we learned from the Dolphins-Bears game
Boca Tanning’s $1.2 billion deal to sell its tanning business to China was approved in December, and the new owners plan to use it to build its new factory.
Miami Heat owner Micky Arison said the deal has been a boon for the Miami Dolphins, who have a reputation for making good deals in the league.
“It’s been very beneficial for the team and our city,” he said.
“They have done a lot of work for the city of Miami, and they are a very good team.
They are very competitive.
It’s been a great deal for us.”
The deal will create two factory facilities and 1,000 workers at the Boca facility in China, while Boca will employ about 1,400 at its Miami facility.
The $1 billion deal has also provided Arison with more time to focus on other projects.
Arison said he is “very optimistic” about the new factory being ready for production in 2019.
The Dolphins have been building facilities in China for years, but this deal gives them another chance to do it, Arison told reporters.
“We’re very excited,” he told reporters outside the Bonaire Resort & Spa in Palm Beach.
“We have an opportunity here to be very competitive and to make some really great things for the community and the fans.”
Arison also said the new facility will be able to produce the Dolphins’ new logo and uniforms in time for the 2020 season.
He said he was “excited” about it.
